Raku firing is a rapid ceramic firing process where pieces are heated quickly in a kiln to high temperatures, then removed while still glowing hot. They are placed in a combustible material, like sawdust, which creates smoke and unique crackling effects on the glaze. This creates vibrant, unpredictable colors and textures, giving each piece its own distinctive finish
Each piece will differ slightly due to their unique, handmade nature, the firing process it a time-intensive but rewarding process for distinctive, one-of-a-kind artwork.
